For years now I’ve slowly broken, yet you hadn’t noticed.
I try to keep composure to paint the pretty picture of a lovely life; crumbling deep inside.
I walk through my days wearing discontent like perfume, to no avail.
Never do words of concern pour from your lips. Assuming a perfect life is being portrayed for even your eyes.
Shattering at your feet, I can bear no more. Slowly sinking farther away, you see nothing.
My soul aches. There is no joy left to give.
I ask of you, please let me go. Let me breathe in a place that makes me feel alive again.
For now, I just need to breathe.
